Our Philosophy
Calico Butterfly Preschool believes that every child is unique and has individual interests, abilities, talents, and needs. Children are naturally curious and eager to learn. We believe children learn best when given opportunities to explore a child-centered environment and to choose activities that are most appealing and meaningful to them. Children are encouraged to interact by manipulating, creating, building and taking on roles.
Calico Butterfly Preschool believes children are diverse and encourages expression of individuality. Children also follow general patterns of development and the curriculum is based on these patterns.
Calico Butterfly Preschool believes young children need and desire social interaction with peers. The curriculum includes whole group activities of discussions, singing, games, and story time.
Calico Butterfly Preschool believes that young children are ready to learn beginning concepts of faith. The curriculum provides for learning Bible stories, songs, and for prayers of thanksgiving before snack time.
Calico Butterfly Preschool believes the family should be the primary force in forming a childs background. It is the desire of CBP to work closely with families to make the preschool experience positive for children and parents. Parents are encouraged to communicate with the teachers and staff regarding any concerns. Parents are also welcome to participate whenever possible.
Calico Butterfly Preschool believes young children are important and deserve our very best!
Our Mission Statement

The school will consider each childs uniqueness and strive to promote a background of experiences to further development as a child of God and as a citizen of the world. It is our goal to contribute to all areas of childrens growth including, but not limited to, cognitive, language, literacy, social, emotional, physical, creative and spiritual development. The school will minister to families by being advocates for children, families, and developmentally appropriate education for young children.
