Creation Stewardship
The ELCA has called for individuals and member congregations to urgently respond to environmental challenges by finding new solutions for energy needs and consumption patterns as we move to a sustainable future. Our hope is that others share our vision and will join us in working to reduce St. Paul's carbon footprint.
The ELCA Social Statement of 2007 reminds us that "It is in hope of God's promised fulfillment that we hear the call to justice; it is in hope that we take action. When we act interdependently and in solidarity with creation, we do justice. We serve and keep the earth, trusting its bounty can be sufficient for all, and sustainable."
We hope to move St. Paul into a new relationship with the earth and all the peoples, animals, and plants with whom we share it.
