Prayer Shawl Ministry
Members of the Prayer Shawl Ministry make shawls in a number of different ways, including knitting, crocheting, and quilting them — whatever works for that particular person. The shawls' creators offer and lift up prayers while making them.
A prayer shawl may be:
- A gift of healing for someone who has a serious illness or is in a stressful situation.
- A sign of celebration for the birth of a baby, marriage, or birthday.
- A sign of community support for a mother and/or father whose son or daughter is serving in a war far away.
- A reminder to a homebound member that s/he has not been forgotten by our community.
- A symbol of caring and comfort for a person whose family member has recently died.
- A gift of remembrance of St. Paul for someone who will be moving away.
