Sacristy/Altar Care

I help with altar care because this is a way I can serve. And because the bread and wine are blessed by God, I feel closer to the sacred

Sacristy volunteers prepare the altar with table linen, the communion cup, and the lectionary. They also ready the bread and wine for communion, and put out the candle carts. This preparation is critical to a smooth worship service, enabling a more spiritual experience for the entire congregation.
